(weil die seit 3 jahren meine mails ignorieren, doch mal auf der frauenseite ein paar infos zum deutschen rugby aufzunehmen....), aber heute fand ich einen interessanten thread im forum:

die frage war: "Best womens player in the world"

diese erlaeuterung zur staerke der black ferns finde ich ganz interessant:

"I think the main reason why the Black Ferns are so dominant is the skill level. This may seem a given at international level but surprisingly it isnt. You would be amazed at the amount of international womens players who cannot pass both ways beyond 5 metres. Even in the BlackFerns there are still players who cannot do this. A lot of New Zealand women play rugby with males until 13 - 14 yr old level. These women stand out remarkably compared to others of similar age. Players such as Amiria Marsh and Hannah Meyers are a great example of this. As regard to depth New Zealand wil be lacking in the next 4 years with a lot of young talent quiting the game after World Cup duties are finished Unfortunately the developmental side of the game is sorely lacking with school girls being lost to the game after they finish secondary school. Part of this is due to the fact that the current Coach and Management seem reluctant to put current Black Ferns out into schools and clubs promoting the game as they used to under Darryl Suasua."
